Vintage Martin Output Jack Swap

This video shows how luthier Erik Ulven saved the original tone in a vintage Martin by only swapping the barrel jack and keeping the original microchip and pickup.

This swap saves you money AND preserves the original tone by keeping the original microchip and pickup. Many of my clients are quick to tear out the whole system for a new LR Baggs or similar system, but this swap is by far easier and better for your vintage Martin.

Many guitars don’t have the barrel jack soldered directly to the microchip like this (which is more accessible), so my client was very happy to keep his guitar as close to original as it was.
